Pediatric Physiotherapy

Pediatric physiotherapy is the treatment for children who need to improve  range of motion, strength, co-ordination, postural control, quality of movement or gross motor development.

Children may need physiotherapy if they exhibit delayed motor development, have neurological conditions such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy or other brain injuries or have orthopedic conditions such as club feet, amputations, torticollis or plagiocephaly. Physiotherapy can be used for post fracture or post surgical rehabilitation and as a treatment for one of a variety of chromosomal abnormalities, such as  Down’s Syndrome. Children may also need physiotherapy for a degenerative disease, such as Muscular Dystrophy, or for one of many other medical syndromes.
