Yaldei’s Interactive Metronome (IM) is a cutting-edge, computer-based therapy used to treat children with neurological conditions that affect cognitive and motor functioning. It’s one of the most time and cost effective programs for children, since we offer IM home units to our families, in order to reinforce their therapy treatment in the home setting. This ensures that the child’s progress is constant and always growing. What’s even better is that our therapists are notified electronically every time the child uses the home unit and can monitor the child’s improvement from wherever they are.
Interactive Metronome has been proven in multiple studies to improve attention, memory, coordination, visual and auditory processing, language skills and cognition, balance and fine motor skills. Through the use of hand and foot sensors, the child learns to coordinate movements, and to match the rhythm of computer-generated musical beats. The exercises strengthen and bring about changes in the brain, a process known as neuroplasticity.
