Three distinct programs of study are offered at Yaldei School: the Social Participation Skills Educational Program (CAPS), an educational program for students with profound intellectual disabilities, and the Standard Quebec School Training Program adapted or modified to meet the needs of the student.
Our school offers a ratio of one student to three educators in each classroom. Each special education teacher is assisted by at least two qualified teaching assistants.
We have an interdisciplinary team of therapists who offer complementary professional services. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music therapy and art therapy sessions take place weekly in each classroom. Individual therapy sessions are offered at the request of the therapists or the school administration.

Course Schedule

Classes are held according to a schedule, as established by the Ministry, which is in accordance with the Ministry's regulations. Students are entitled to a snack break, a lunch break, two recesses, a free play period, structured activities, as well as periods of individual work. We emphasize pedagogy, communication and social interaction, safety and the development of independent living skills. Each student begins the school year with an Individualized Education Plan that is reassessed with parents and professionals three times a year. Specific classroom and therapy goals are established for each student, who work on them daily.
